TV Series
Anime series are the usual more popular anime surrounding us. Series are screened on T.V for a specific amount of time from the beginning to the ending every week. Usually it takes around 1 year or more for anime series from Japan to make it to the english speaking people. In addition to this, Ovas and Movies usually spawned from very successful series when audiences are hungry for more.
Ovas / Oavs
Ova is better known as Original Video Animation which are released directly to video only. Ovas can originate from series or directly from mangas. The storyline might be same, dependant on the original story or as a unique new stand alone plot. As seen, some very successful Ovas can in turn be turned into a T.V series as well. An example is the very funny APC Catgirl Nukunuku.
Movies
Anime movies are exactly like those we see in the cinema. They can be released to videos or to the cinema as well. The story usually takes place after the final ending of the original anime series or a new plot. Some anime movies are a one shot story like those produced by Studio Ghibli. An example of a continuation of a series into a movie is the very successful Evangelion which has spanned another 2 movie due to huge demand from fans.
