The secret department NERV created after the Second Impact belongs officially to the United Nations. In reality the UN does not have any influence on NERV, because the over-legally protected organization is subordinate only to the supreme command soul committee (SEELE). Followed from the Pre Second Impact research group BRAIN, lies headquarters in Hakone, Japan. The latest coordinates of the focal point of the HQ is under Neo Tokyo-3, in form of a heavily armored pyramid within the Geofront. However, just recently, Tokyo-4 was converted into a dummt scene and the HQ was secretly relocated to Nagoya. All a ploy to divert attention from the tru  e intents of the organisation. Nerv-01 and 02 lie both in the United States, while Nerv-03 is in Germany. Further branches of the organization are distributed over the whole world into the G-7 countries as well as Russia and China. The task of the organization covers the identification, study and destruction of the attacking angels. Their actions is therefore classified and secret. The highest avowed goal is the prevention of a possible Third Impact. Their primary weapon for the fight of the angels the ultimative general-purpose combat machines are well-known, also as "EVANGELION".
After the succes of deviating the Third Impact, NERV along with all of the Geo Front contenats had to be reestablished somewhere out of the UN's sight. This location being Nagoya, NERV headquaters could now continue with its operations.
Now, the new Collective Link Project is being head by NERV at the relocated base. And with the world's safety as their top priority, they're as busy as ever. Only this time, the entire human race will be used for much more that the final angel. This time, Many must become One in order to save what little there is left.
